Technologies
TerraSond's knowledge and ability to manage new technologies enables us to play a key role in the surveying and mapping industry.
We own and maintain a large suite of complex software and equipment that is necessary for executing accurate land and hydrographic surveying and mapping. The technology includes specialized tools for obtaining measurements and performing calculations on land and water that are essential for creating, editing and analyzing spatial and attribute data.
We support our staff's ability to manage new technologies by providing additional education and training. We also encourage hands-on experience to increase the conceptual understanding of geographic information systems (GIS) and their practical application for our projects.
Laser Scanners
Laser scanners are able to collect data on the shape and appearance of objects or elements of the environment. The data that is collected can then be used to construct digital models. This technology can be used to perform highly detailed surveys of railway and road networks, breakwaters and projects requiring shoreline verification.
Leica HDS6100
The Leica HDS6100 significantly reduces
field costs and increases phase-based data quality for many types of as-built and site surveys where users want to take advantage of ultra-high speed, phase-based laser scanning.
RIEGL 2D Laser Scanner
The RIEGL LMS-Q240 2D - laser scanner makes use of the pulsed time-of-flight range measurement principle and beam scanning by means of an opto-mechanical scan mechanism, providing fully linear, unidirectional and parallel scan lines.
