Shallow Hazards Geophysical Survey Alaska Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Region
The Minerals Management Service (MMS) requires hazard surveys for the safe conduct of oil and gas operations. This includes mapping the sea floor for surficial geology, shallow gas, and obstructions.
We conducted shallow hazards analysis surveys to look for potentially hazardous shallow conditions using a multibeam sonar system, a sidescan sonar system, and a sub-bottom profiler. Grab samples were collected from the sea floor for analysis.
Utilizing the Stingray Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), all under-ice and real-time monitoring of marine construction operations and offshore structure surveys, were performed from the contractor's vessel, the M/V Arctic Wolf.
