Project Manager/RPLS (Houston, TX or Corpus Christi)

Position Offered:
Prepare accurate, complete and value-added survey work products that consistently meet clients’
deliverables. This position is responsible for directing surveys and mapping projects from field to finish
within required time frames, budgets and contract requirements. He or she verifies the quality and
accuracy of collected data, and directly prepares or in some cases supervises the preparation of all data,
charts, plots, maps, progress sketches, records, documents and deliverables related to the survey.

Essential Functions:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
 Analyze survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals
 Assist with proposal preparation
 Provide final quality control for all surveys
 Manage Land survey projects from initial planning to final deliverable
 Monitor entire life cycle of survey projects to include planning, organizing, and directing survey
projects; Ability to schedule projects in logical steps and budget time using resources required, to
meet deadlines and profitability targets. Ability to interface with clients on technical matters and
maintain client relationships
 Work directly with project team members to include scheduling of field crew activity and
coordinating equipment
 Negotiate, review and implement contracts and subcontracts
 Write operation reports, maintain logs and update records
 Complete needed CAD tasks and work with the survey team and drafters for final product
 Responsible for survey calculations, analysis and final map checking
 Work within defined project scopes and budgets; managing deadlines and prioritizing assignments
 Verify the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at
survey sites
 Approve data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys
 Review and process the results of field surveys
 Assist with sales and account development
 Manage and mentor direct reports and junior staff

Education/Experience:
 5+ years survey experience
 Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics, Cartography, Geography, Natural Sciences, Engineering or other
relevant discipline preferred

Skills and Special Requirements/ Licensing:
 Registered PLS in Texas
 Excellent cooperation skills working efficiently with a team, training, coordinating, and leading
others in accomplishing work activities
 Excellent time management skills; thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule,
budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources
 Advanced knowledge of codes, surveying principles, techniques and procedures, occupational
hazards and safety precautions
 Proficient in all relevant technical software
 Proficient on all field instrumentation
 Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and AutoCAD
 Effective written and verbal communication skills
 Understanding of project requirements, including budget, regulatory requirements, and project
submittal
 Hydrographic survey experience preferred but not required
 Merchant Marine Physical
 Valid Driver’s license, must be legally eligible and insurable to drive
 Ability to procure a passport
 Ability to travel and work in other cities
 Ability and willingness to perform work in both field and office settings.

Working Conditions:
Work duties are performed in office and field environments. This position requires a significant amount
of time spent in the field and travel away from the home office area. This position requires occasional
heavy lifting of survey equipment. Adjusted work schedule, long days, and evening/weekend hours may
be required to meet project deadlines.
