HR Administrator – Anchorage, Alaska

Job Purpose: Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Administrator is responsible for
supporting various HR employee programs within the organization.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential

 Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in a timely fashion.
 Processes Employee Action Forms and ensures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.
 Prepares and collects new-hire paperwork.
 Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the website, reviewing resumes, and
performing initial phone interviews.
 Maintains the employee handbook with updated resolutions and other pertinent information, as
needed.
 Assists with processing of terminations.
 Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the HR Manager.
 Completes I-9’s, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
 Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
 Coordinates and reviews benefit enrollment forms for accuracy and coordinates enrollment with
third-party administrator.
 Conduct new-employee orientations at headquarters and remotely via Skype or phone to ensure
employees gain an understanding of benefits plans and enrollment provisions. Counsel employees
(and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed
benefits decisions.
 Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment,
training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
 Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
 Answer HR related questions and any other pertinent information.
 Gather personnel records from other departments or employees.
 Help in recruiting as needed.
 Inform job applicants of their acceptance or rejection of employment.
 Schedule interviews, phone, video and or face to face.
 Generate communication through our internal email system “KYP’s – Keeping You Posted.
 Manage compliance poster/updates for all offices.
 Maintain Personnel file clean-up/maintenance.
 Coordination of meetings, lunches, etc. as required.
 Updates organization charts.

Travel
 No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
 Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or other related field
 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite)
2. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and
documentation.
3. Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
4. Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and
meeting deadlines.
5. Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
6. Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
7. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Tools and Equipment Used:
 Standard office equipment including personal computer, telephone system, fax machine, copier,
and printers.
