Ship-to-Shore and Ship-to-Ship Telephone and Data Systems

We install wireless communications and wireless data-transfer technology from ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore, including satellite systems and VoIP technology to increase the efficiency of our projects.

These systems have produced a cost-effective means through which data and verbal exchange can take place where communications are nearly nonexistent. TerraSond owns and uses this technology to improve communications between field and in-office personnel and to improve troubleshooting capabilities.

The wireless systems provide internet access on marine vessels; and real-time software and hardware operations on remote field computers by home-office information technology personnel.

These systems give us the capabilities to:

• Control and administer any computer in the remote office or on a survey vessel
• Deploy antivirus servers that automatically update virus definitions across the WAN, lowering WAN traffic and ensuring computers have the latest virus definitions
• Provide communication in the event the land-based phone system, VoIP system, or the computer system fails
• Provide continuity in network administration
