Cable Route Surveys
Offshore methods of generating renewable energy all require power cables to get the power from the point of generation to the point of use. Safe installation of cables requires a healthy knowledge of the route and the characteristics of the seafloor along the route. Avoidance of rocks, steep terrain and existing pipelines or cables can be planned for with a good route survey. Also, the potential for burial of the cable can be determined with the use of Sub bottom profilers and the use of either probes or cone penetrometers.
